Revlon ColourBurst Lippy: Soft Nude 070 Review

2/4/11

So as you ladies already know I recently purchased the Soft Nude 070 lippy from the Revlon Colourburst collection.

Revlon Promises: Instant burst of rich, true color with a featherlight feel. Elasticolor™ technology provides immediate color release and hugs lips with a burst of weightless color that feels like a second skin -Available in range of 20 gorgeous shades.

My Review: Soft Nude is a pretty peachy pale pink colour. Even on my medium pigmented lips the colour goes on opaque after two swatches. Colour stays pretty true to the tube colour, which a big plus in my books. I buy lipsticks so I get a richer colour, when I want sheer I stick to balms and lipglosses. The texture is soft and creamy but not as creamy as Chanel or YSL lipsticks. It feels nice as you put it on, but after a minute or so the lipstick becomes quite drying. Not only is it drying but if your lips happen to be even a bit chapped this will bring that out and amplify it so make sure you hydrate beforehand! The colour stays on but you will most likely need some lip balm-which thins out the colour a bit. One thing I truly love is the packaging, not its no Chanel labels or the classics designs of Dior or YSL but its a cute sleek black tube with diamond hatching on two sides. Suuuuper cute packaging! The price is average, here in Canada its 12CAD so about half the price of MAC lipsticks.

Swatch on my arm with flash.

I agree with the fact that it "delivers a burst of colour" but I'm not sure what they mean by weightless, I mean I don't know about you but I don't feel "weight" on my lips after I apply lipstick.

I'm not sure if I'd repurchase this colour from the line but I'm definitely intrigued to try a pink and see if that shows up on my lips! The only thing I really dislike is the fact that it dries my lips out and amplifies the look of chapped lips at the same time.

What do you ladies think of these colourburst lippies?? Have you tried any colours?

  1. I love peachy nude lip colors!
Im sorry to hear that it dries your lips. Sometimes I put a coat of gloss on top to prevent certain lippies from drying my lips out.
I agree that YSL lippies a creamier.
