Who Am I for Halloween?

10/31/11

Myself! I thought I'd share a bit about me today...
I read tons and tons of blogs all the time. I love finding new blogs I can relate to and new innovative ideas to be excited by. I also love the girls who not only love fashion, makeup, etc but give you a bit of their world and make certain posts sort of like a dialogue. Getting to know people and their opinions, likes and dislikes is one of my favourites parts of blogging.
I live in Montreal, Quebec and currently I am finishing up my Master's. I really do love this city, it's got this sort of quaint, friendly vibe to it. It's very chic but also indie, it's as professional as it is artistic and quirky. I do love what I do for my Master's, its fun and it definitely feeds my nerdy mad scientist I have living inside my head :P
I guess I'll give you a little tidbit of what I'm doing at the moment!
A few weeks ago I got on a bike for the first time in YEARS and rode around a bit. These hipster bikes are so unlike my old little blue road bike. Either way it was a free-ing experience and I had so much fun with it!

I love hanging out with my friends and I'm a pretty social person. Feel free to say hi :)
That's me in the middle with the leopard top!

Earlier this year, my friend and I "crashed" Comic-con...
...and I sort of became friends with Darth Vader.

Just a testament to how you can make friends where-ever you go! ;)

Tell me something interesting about you! I always love hearing everyone's story :)

Old Favourites: A nice Smooth Latte

10/25/11

I wasn't kidding ladies, I meant smooth latte. But not the kind of you drink. The kind you smear all over your eyes.
Now don't get scared, here's what I mean:

With flash

without flash

I know the swatch is pretty light but its such a great wash over the lid. I also use it as a crease over very light colours.
It's a beautiful matte latte colour-light brown wash-just a few shades darker that my skintone. It's a very brown colour, true brown. It may lean a little golden-orange (in a matte sort of way).
It's not very opaque as you can tell, but you can build on the colour. I love wearing it-it makes me look more put together and noone can tell I have makeup on. Au natural all the way ;)
I have a very favourites FOTD that I wear specifically wearing this. It's so elegant and effortless.
I can't wait to show you ladies!

What are your latest rediscoveries?

Lusting for Lush

10/19/11

Bonjour mes Belles!
I've been loving Lush lately, every time I go int he store I just fall inlove even more. And its a great place to get gifts. The prices are SO reasonable (for the most part) I already use aqua marina, ocean salt, lush foot scrub, sacred truth :)
I was looking through an old Lush newspaper and I circled a few things I wanted to get in the very near future...
Colour supplements! I've heard a bit about these from Dulce Candy. I think I'd be light yellow or even dark yellow.

I really want to try the Brazened Honey mask. I loved the Sacred Truth mask so much (and would definitely repurchase) that I'd love to try another one. Brazened Honey seems right up my alley!

Mask of Magnaminty. I really want to find a good mud mask to use. I've already tried this once with a friend. Have you ladies tried it?

9 to 5 and Angels on Bareskin. I love a good deep-cleanser and both of these seems great. Angels on bareskin for morning and 9 to 5 for nighttime.
Thoughts ladies?

Have you tried any of these items? Items you would recommend that may not be here?

Swatchtime: Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss

10/18/11

Alright girls and boys,
I finally did the swatches for the Revlon Colourburst lipglosses I acquired over the holidays!
I really love the colour of these guys. It's not sheer and its not completely opaque but you definitely get an amazing colour payoff that you don't see in drugstore (or even high-end) brands very often.
The wear is about 2-3 hours, but it is a non-sticky formula. For me, it seems to get soaked up by my lips after a couple hours.
The packaging is super cute, I've loved the new packaging that revlon has come out with! The matte and patent black diamonds with "revlon" at the bottom is classy and not "flashy" like some other brands.
The price of these in the states is about 7USD, in Canada I think they go for about 9-10CAD. Which is a pretty good price seeing as these are 0.20 fl.oz.

Here are the swatches!
I got Papaya 020 and Crystal Lilac 002

 Bare Lips
Papaya 020
Crystal Lilac 002

Now papaya is a little darker and more coral on my lips. It definitely warms up my completion since its a warmer tone. It's not full coverage but definitely medium, I would say. To me, its like a glossy (medium-opaque) lipstick :)

Crystal Lilac is a very demure pink-lilac colour that is a little more than sheer. It definitely leaves colour on your lips but its not super opaque. It's a very classy colour in my opinion and quite unique. A great addition to my stash!

Would I repurchase? Maybe, although I don't know how fast I'll go through these. I may, however, go and purchase peony or rosegold since I want to try those colours too!
