Mini Review: Aveda Rehydrating Lip Glaze in Pink Lotus

Recently, I was given a haircut at Aveda Academy. At the same time, I had booked an appointment for a friend of mine that hadn't gotten a haircut at Aveda, in Montreal, yet. Apparently, if you "refer" a friend to Aveda salons you get a lipgloss free (I wonder what they offer to men!). These lipglazes retail for about 23$ CAD, which is pretty expensive in my opinion. Each Aveda lipglaze is 0.24oz (ounces) or 7g (grams) compare to MAC lipglasses which are 0.14 oz.
For my free lipgloss I chose 365 Pink Lotus, which is a beautiful medium pink shade that goes well with warmer skin tones.

I think that package it comes in is so adorable. It reminds me of a mini carton of eggs...containing a lipglaze... and bonus!: it's made from 100% post consumer products (recycled products).

"Nourish-Mint" tehe, always love a good pun.

It's a beautiful pink colour with yellow undertones (I'd say, wouldn't you agree?).

Briefly for review: The wear time is amazing in my opinion for a lipglaze (or gloss), it stays on the lips for a good 3 or so hours (maybe more-but I haven't worn it for more yet). The texture is smooth, not sticky at all, and relatively thick. Pigmentation is also outstanding, opaquely covering my lips with a couple swipes. Packaging is mediocre, standard lipgloss packaging. The price point is high for a brand that is new to cosmetics, Aveda does hair care well, 23$ is a pretty penny for a lipglaze. I also want to add that is has a spearmint scent, which I personally really like, and the tube itself says "Nourish-Mint". Cute!

Would I repurchase? Not this colour, as it's easily dupeable, but I do have my eye on a very beautiful light coral from this same line. They didn't have it in stock last time but I will keep checking.

What do you ladies think of this lipcolour? Have you tried any of Aveda's lipglazes?

  3. Love it!!! I live 5 blocks from an Aveda that I pass constantly and I actually just tried that color on while in the store last week. Loved it! I kind of had a surplus of gloss right now so I decided against it but it was definitely really cute.
