Strikingly Sweet Aprils

I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but in Montreal it went from Winter straight into Summer without a transitionary season like Spring... so weird.

Even though April was a crazy month with unpredictable weather, my makeup choices were actually pretty stable. As the weather gets warmer, and it drastically got hotter, my makeup and skincare choices are also going to change. So be on the lookout for new routine posts! I also got loads more things during this month that might just pop up in my May Favourites! Trust me, it will be worth the wait ;)

Today, I have six favourite items, for the month of April, to share with you!

Clarins Creme Eclat du Jour: This is my daily moisturizer for the cooler months, it has worked amazingly on my skin. I moisturize all areas of my face except those that include my T-zone or my chin. I use it every morning in combination with my Origins Ginzeng. It moisturizes my skin perfectly without leaving my face excessively oily or breaking me out!

Sally Hanse Lustre Shine NailPolish in Lava: I have to admit I was totally skeptical about this colour the minute I put it on my nails. I was really disliking it, and then it came into contact with the sun and I was WOW-ed. It's such a beautiful colour, give yourself a couple days to get used to the duo-chrome if you're not used to it like me! You can see more swatches here.

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner:  A "workhorse" make-up item, I wear it on almost every night out. It's the blackest black of eyeliners and fairly easy to put on, you can apply a thin line or a thicker eyeline. Lasts all night, and in some cases, all the way until the morning time and after brunch ;)

Lush Cosmetic Warrior Mask: I have some break-outs here and there and my skin can look rather dull. This, for me, tends to tackle both problems. It calms my skin and my breakouts down while moisturizing it enough to give it a nice fresh-faced glow. Love this and will definitely repurchase! You can read my review here.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 80 Suspense: Yes, I will be wearing this colour all summer and it's already taken up permanent residency in my purse. Beautiful sheer fuchsia shade, it gives me some moisture while giving me beautiful colour. One downside of lipshines it that they don't last for more than 3 hours, but the upsides of moisture and colour are great! You can see more swatches here.

Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer: I had been having such trouble properly covering under eye circles until one SA had told me that the skin under my eye was a little dry, which might be the problem. She then suggested this product and I got a small sample of it. Since, then it's been working wonders for me! I apply it on top of my eye moisturizer and then I apply my under eye concealer (a NYX concealer) and voila! Brighter looking eyes and face!

These are my favourites picks for April, the products that have beent he most striking this month for me. What do you think of these products? What are you favourite products lately?

Always love hearing from you. xoxo

  1. the smashbox eye primer looks very interesting! and that lipstick omg is gorgeous! <3 big hugs <3

    1. The lipstick is really nice, but it has its pros and cons. The eye primer is something that I hadn't hear of before January (hydrating and a primer? amazing!)

  2. love it! LUSH is really close to me and I can't resist going in an checking out all the goodies there!

    1. Let me know what you pick out next time you do (also let me know if there's anything good ;) )
