October Lovins'

11/6/13

It's that time again, the time where I reveal my absolute favourite products for the month of October.
Honestly, it's always difficult for me to pull up an exhaustive list of products as I have a few staple favourites and can't always try a plethora new products at the same time and "learn to love them" as quick as the originals.
The best thing that comes out of this, is that the products you'll see featured on my monthly favourites are curated by my picky consistency [and my open mind] rather than your average coup de foudre.

MAC Mythology Eye Shadow - I used to find this colour daunting, so much glitter and the colour seemed unflattering. On the contrary, the glitter comes off beautifully and the colour is quite stricking for brown eyes, albeit a little bold.
MAC Sable Eye Shadow - This is a colour that had a lot of loyal followers but that I never found drawn to in the store. I finally took the plunge and bought it, and am so glad I did. It works wonderfully as both an all-over lid wash and a crease colour.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Flushed - For my olive skintone, a "flushed" look with a rose blush is hard to pull off. Naturally, a deeper pink, like a fuchsia, works well to give me that naturally flushed look.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer (sample) - I received this sample in one of my monthly TopBoxs. As I generally didn't think Clinique's moisturizing products worked for my skintype, it's not surprising that I cast it aside for a few months. On one very dry day, I decided to try it, and it hasn't left me [makeshift] vanity since! Just the right amount of moisture for the Fall without breaking me out.
KORRES Daily Buffing Cleanser - I just can't love this product enough, it gently exfoliates and brightens my skin every time I use it! I'll be posting a full review on this one soon.
Dermalogica Pre-Cleanser (sample) - This came in with last months' Dermalogica TopBox, I love the concept of a moisturizing pre-cleanse. One that removed excess makeup and surface dirt/oil. The texture of this is divine - comes out as an oil but smoothly lathers up as it comes into contact with water. I may have to purchase the full size.

Thoughts or comments on any of the products? I always love hearing your opinions or recommendations!
