Bioderma and Garnier Skincare | Haul

I went a'shopping at the nearest pharmacies and picked up some fun skincare goodies.

I absolutely love the Bioderma Miscelle solution and recently got a friend obsessed as well. It's so gentle, feels totally like water but helps remove every trace of makeup! I used the one for combination or oily skin as that's my skintype, but you can definitely grab one for sensitive to dry skin if that's your type. The 500ml size comes out twice a year and retails at about 30$CAD.

The Sebium Mat mattifying fluid came with the pack, full-sized! I'm excited to have this for the warmer months when my T-zone tends to get more oily than is necessary. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm hoping it does what it actually says. This full size 40ml bottle retails at about 30$CAD as well.

However, my most exciting purchase was the Pure 3 in 1 Garnier cleanser/scrub/mask for Oily-prone skin. Ive used this as a cleanser/scrub and as a mask. So far I'm loving it and will have a full review up very soon! I got this little guy at the Jean Coutu pharmacy here in Montreal and retails at about 11$CAD, not bad for 150ml and 3 in 1!

Have you tried any of these products?

March 2014 TopBox | Reveal

Super late for a Topbox reveal but I was pretty excited about this one so I had to do a post. Better late than never, right?

This month we got four products:

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey - I always knew Clinique made these "almost lipsticks" and it's great to finally try the product and the famous colour "Black Honey"! The texture is lovely, and the colour seems dark but it's very sheer deep rose. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of this product, since I don't usually wear deep sheer shades. A nice addition to try, none the less.

LashEm 3 in 1 Eye Bright Gel - I was so excited to receive this! I've been looking for a good night cream and one that helps my dark circles is a huge bonus. This one lifts, firms and brightness, three feature I can definitely live with. A full review coming up!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - This item intrigues me. I've tried the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil, which works wonders on my skin overnight, and so I'm curious to find out if Advanced Night Repair performs similar wonders. I'm hoping the anti-wrinkle features don't wear and tear too much on my skin!

Belvada Blackhead Facial Mask - I'm not the biggest fan of peel-off masks, but I'm a huge fan of removing blackheads. I'll definitely give this a cautious try, and I'm pleased to have received the samples!

All in all, I'm happy to receive these sample in this month's Topbox. There were only four but they were generous, especially the LashEm 3 in 1 Eye Bright Gel!

What did you ladies think? Have you ever tried one of these items?

The Magical Powers of Anti-Oxidants | Indecent Xposure

I've been wanting to explore the powers of anti-oxidants and what exactly they do for your skin, for quite some time now. I was finally able to further explore that avenue and write a short, yet sweet, article about them on Indecent Xposure! It's chock full of products that contain anti-oxidants which are good and rich for your skin.

There are also some DIY masks you can concoct using recipes found online and by famous skincare/makeup artists. For these, I always find that some key ingredients always pop up: aloe, cranberries, avocado, papaya etc.

I want to hear, what are you favourite products that contain anti-oxidant ingredients?
I absolutely adore the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil!

Warm Winter Glow | FOTD

For many of us in the Northern parts of the world, the winter blues are here and are not showing signs of leaving!
Here in Montreal we just had a crazy snowstorm, with blowing snow, freezing wind and tons of accidents on the road. Scary stuff, but I'm still hoping for warmer weather.
Until the sun comes to greet my pale white skin, I'm going to be using a few products to help give myself a light, and believable, bronzey glow.

Basically this look is very very simple. You only need a few products, tailor to your skintype, and you can add a lip product! I neglected to add one since I was running out the door.

Products used:
Revlon Whipped Foundation in 250 Medium Beige
MAC Skinfinish in Gold Deposit (lightly dusted all over face, but majorly on temples and hollows of cheeks)
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 004 Forever Pink
Hourglass Ambient Light Blush in Dim Infusion
Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

For me, these colour really compliment my skintone, colouring and my eyes. I love this look to boost me up when I feel as I look dull. If you feel as though your eyes might need a bit more definition, feel free to lightly line them with a charcoal, brown or black liner. In my opinion, this look would look great with a touch of a gel or pencil liner as they provide a softer finish; a liquid liner might come off as too harsh.

What do you ladies think? What looks are you rocking this end-of-winter season?

February and January Favourites 2014

Ohhh look at all the goodies! I haven't done a favourites post in quite some time, so I decided to put together some products that I've been loving for both January and February.

Usually my monthly favourites don't consist of that many products since I'm quite picky and don't generally use a ton of makeup on a daily basis. This month, I feel like I've accumulated quite a few things and so I'll give a short review/why I like them about each.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser - This is just the best basic facial cleanser. It's gentle enough that it doesn't strip your skin too much but it definitely takes off all the dirt and grime that's accumulated. It's also pH balancing, a must when you live in a crowded city with air pollution.

MAC Skinfinish in Gold Deposit - An old love, newly found. Has been part of my skin routine this winter when I need an extra little glow that's natural enough for my light olive skintone.

L'Occitane Amande (Almond) Hand Cream - I love the Occitane hand creams, super moisturizing without being greasy. The Amande, almond in french, scent is sweet and fresh at the same time.

Seche Vite Top Coat - My nail polish saviour! This is the best top coat that doesn't create small bubbles and lasts for a while longer than the competition. It's pricey, but worth it and this will be re-bought once it's finished.

Epic Blend in Apple - I received this in a recent Topbox, the February Topbox, and I've been loving it. A great blend of waxy and greasy, with a sweet apple scent.

Hourglass Ambient Light in Dim Infusion - This deserves a full review, but so far, I'm loving it. I love the highlighter mixed in with the peach blush shade, it creates a soft peachy glow on my cheek that compliments my face and palette

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Suspense - The Rouge Coco Shines aren't the most long lasting. However, when I need to use them for work or a more natural look, I can dab this on and blend it into my lips with my fingers. I get a beautiful pout with a pop of colour that's work appropriate.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Caresse Liptick in Violet Chiffon - A yellow based violet lipstick that looks beautiful on olive toned skin. One of my favourite light violets for day or night. I've been dabbing this one on lightly as well for more work appropriate events.

What products have you been loving lately?
