Real Review #5 | Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick

I have to apologize since this post is quite late, but things have been quite hectic here the past week or so.
However, as a beauty maven, I always have it on the brain. Today, I wanted to talk about the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick and unfortunately, it's not the best news.

I bought this product as I was so intrigued by it's formulation: a stick foundation? It seems like an incredibly convenient product for on the go and busy days. I mean, it is, in theory very convenient. However, its execution is really lacking.

I've never really purchased Maybelline foundations in general, as I found they always contained oil and clogged my pores. This one has a coloured outer circle of foundation and an inner circle of white product which is supposed to control oil.
I find that it doesn't control my oil well at all, in fact I find that it makes me a bit oiler and blocks the surface of my skin completely - which is most likely a big factor as to why my skin is oiler. Furthermore, the texture of the foundation is a bit thick and almost slightly grainy. I tend to have to put on a lot in order to get even coverage. Since the stick is pretty short I could see this running out quickly. Since the texture is so thick, the pigmentation is fairly good with a thick swipe - a light swipe leaves you with an uneven swatch.

On my combination skin, the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick doesn't last very last long, definitely not an entire 8 hours. It lasts around 4-5 hours and then starts to fade a bit unevenly: 5 hour lasting power max.
The packaging is pretty standard for a stick foundation and the cap seems to click on tightly - I haven't had any problems with it.
The price point is low, around 9-10$ CAD per stick, but for the amount of product that you receive and how quickly it will run out, it may not be worth it after all.

Would I repurchase this item? No I would not, there are so many other great drugstore foundations out there. I think in the case of great looking foundation and skin, quality should trump convenience.

Have you ladies tried this product? What do you think of it after the review?

  1. I actually liked this, but I think I was the only one haha. Saying that, I disliked the rest of the 'Fit Me' range. But fab review.
