Real Review #11 | Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

6/28/14

I'm not the kind of girl that likes her face to get a full blast of the sun. So, I warm up pretty easily to a product that can provide me with the same bronzed glow without the harmful UV rays. That's when I spotted the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster at my friendly neighborhood Sephora store. Basically, it's a self-tan concentrated in liquid oil form, a shade of light amber. You add it to your moisturizer, whether it be a lotion, cream, gel or oil type, mix the two together and apply the result to your face. I feel as though I'm an alchemist when I do this, casually mixing beauty potions. It's not a greasy oil and it doesn't clog my pores. There's also no palpable smell to the product. I've found the best way to use this is to apply it with your nightly moisturizer for about 3-4 days in a row, using the recommended 3 drops each time, to get a nice healthy sunkissed glow. The afterwards you can use it 3-4 times a week by using 1-2 drops with your nightly routine to maintain the colour. Of course, you can always add more if you see it fading faster. This has some nice staying power as far as I can tell and it's great for gals that want to keep the sun away from the facial area but still want a nice glow to go with the rest of the summer tan! I've also been able to travel with it, as the cap twists on and the product does not leak in my makeup bag. It's also small enough to travel with me and take alongside any moisturizer. It needs to be mixed well and applied evenly, or else I can see it staining unevenly. However, since I've mixed it well that has not happened to me. It does, however, stain the palm of my hand that I mix the products in, but you can easily scrub your hands after or use disposable gloves.

Pros
- high staying power
- can be added to any moisturizer
- non comedogenic
- good pigmentation: allows for a gradual sunkissed glow
- good packaging: the cap screws on tightly, small size

Cons
- price point is somewhat steep at 30$ a pop
- can stain easily
- needs to be mixed well and applied quickly

Would I repurchase this product? Yes, I would!
Especially in the winter, used a couple times a week this would give you a nice glow to combat the paleness. In any other season, this also imparts a great summer time glow without the harmful UV rays needing to be involved.

Have you tried this product? What do you think about it?

Kisti Belle
