Real Review #16 | Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil

Ever since I purchased my first ever Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (avec Or even!), I've been in love with dry body oils. They are so effective: deeply moisturizing without leaving a greasy film and they just sink right into the skin. I was excited by the option to order and try a full size Dry Oil from Julep, the Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil, instead of nail polish for a month in the Summer time.

The Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil has a wonderfully thin texture, very moisturizing and it does sink into the skin quickly without leaving a greasy, waxy or oily film. Over an extended period of time, my skin is smoother and deeply moisturized overall: no chaffing, peeling, dead skin, etc. It has no colour, it's too thin and transparent. However, it does have a gentle smell. Julep has dubbed this their "Beach Tonic" fragrance, but unfortunately, unlike its' other admirers, I am not a big fan of this scent. It's hard to describe, but for me it smells synthetic - like fancier-than-drugstore sunscreen. And, since it's all over my body, I'm not such a fan of smelling this synthetic smell everywhere plus my clothing.

The packaging is a coral/orange cylindrical plastic tube with a spray top. When it's not upright, when it's lying flat down, it does leak from the side - makes me wish it was a bit more secure. The price point isn't bad for a dry oil like this one and for 104 ml of it, but it's only available online as far as I know. For Julep Mavens it will come to $18.40 USD and for Non-Julep Mavens it will come to $23 USD.

-deeply moisturizing
- only need 2-3 pumps for a large area of the body
-thin formula
- doesn't leave a film on clothes or skin
-fair price point for 104ml of product

- the scent
- the packaging: tall and cylindrical, prone to leaking
- available only online so far: not easily accessible

Would I re-purchase the Julep Beach Tonic Dry Body Oil? No, I don't think so. There are so many other dry oils to try and I love my Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

What do you ladies think? Have you tried the Julep Beach Tonic Oil?

Kisti Belle
