October Favourites | 2014

10/31/14

It's that time of the month again... October Favourites!

1. LORAC Pro Palette 2 - This palette has both matte (top row) and shimmery shades (bottom row) that are highly pigmented. I only need a small amount of product to get the desired effect and they blend/combine together very easily. The palette itself is also really thin, held closed by a magnet enclosure, so it's really easy to travel with. I've been reaching for this palette a lot this month to create a variety of looks from casual daytime to intense nighttime.

2. Anastasia DipBrow Pomade in Dark Brown - I had my doubts about this formula for eyebrows, but it turns out it's very creamy and pigmented. It's easy to blend into brows and it creates a natural lasting effect. I've actually been filling in my brows more often now since discovering this easy-to-use and natural formula!

3. bareMinerals BareSkin Foundation - I purchased this foundation the same day as the Anastasia DipBrow and this also turned out to be a winner. I had a Sephora SA try this on me and it was so natural and flawless looking that it ended up in my basket! I only need about four drops, and using a swirling motion to blend it in, I get a medium coverage look. It doesn't look cakey at all, but a tip would be to moisturize beforehand to avoid any dry patch areas.

4. MAC Twig Lipstick - With the surge of everything 1995, I purchased Twig form MAC. I have to say I'm glad this has a become a trend and I was introduced to this! It's a great dark nude, containing both brown and dusty rose tones. Great for both night and day.

5. MAC Soft Brown and Wedge Transition Eyeshadows - I'm really happy with these two practical purchases. Since they're so easy to wear, I've been reaching for them more and more. I use either of them to define my crease during the day and as a transitional colour for more intense looks.

6. Julep Bare Face Cleansing Oil - I got this in one of my monthly Julep boxes. I use this mostly to remove any heavy makeup applications (usually for nighttime looks). I apply it dry to make face and rub it gently to loosen any makeup/dirt. Then I rinse with water and it turns into a more milky texture. It's amazing for removing makeup and I'm really appreciating that it doesn't strip me of all my skin's moisture! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with combination/normal/dry skin.

*All of the items can be found on Julep.com, MACcosmetics.com and Sephora.com

  1. I wish we could get Soft Brown here in the UK, it looks like the most perfect crease shade xx
